Creating Equity and Quality: A Literature Review of School Effectiveness and Improvement
Dr. Terrence J. Wendel What does the research on school effectiveness suggest for today's challenge of educating every student successfully? This study explores the research on socioeconomic status (SES) and student achievement. This summary of the research on school effectiveness and improvement is a valuable primer for schools and districts seeking to ensure no students are left behind. It was produced as the initial phase of 'Schools That Make a Difference' a study of twelve Canadian secondary schools in low-income settings. The second phase was published in November 2001.

Dr. Wendel holds a Ph.D. from the University of Alberta in the area of Educational Administration. He is currently working with Alberta Learning.
