A Study on Improving Schools |

Research designed to explore the characteristics of improving schools. This is a joint undertaking of SAEE and the BC Ministry of Education, working with school improvement coach Cynthia Lewis as project consultant. The pilot phase of the research is expected to produce a literature review, a template for examining school improvement processes and case studies of six schools. The report will be available in early 2009. |

School Improvement Grants Program- Aboriginal Settings Pilot |

The School Improvement Grants Program for Aboriginal Schools will provide $23,000 in
support to each of 2 band schools or provincial schools with (60 %) or higher Aboriginal
student populations, chosen on the strength of their proposed literacy interventions. |
