Giving schools real support based on sound theory and best practices.

The School Improvement Grants Program (SIGP) is an action research project in British Columbia to stimulate and support efforts to raise literacy and math skills in public schools serving at-risk students.
Grants are awarded on a competition basis to volunteering low-income schools
The program includes grants for planning, implementation and evaluation
Regular interim reports monitor gains over the term of the project
Results of schools are documented and published in a comprehensive report to assist other schools facing similar challenges

The program will make an important contribution by supporting our neediest schools in their efforts to improve outcomes with an emphasis on documented results to show academic gains for at-risk students.
